In celebration of summer and creativity here’s a poem inspired by my daughter’s pencil sketch (above). Enjoy!
BIRDY

.
Tweet, tweet birdy,
What’s the wordy,
Is it really true?
Folks say you lay
Eggs every day
In every kind of hue.
.
What you’ve heardy
Ain’t absurdy.
What you’ve heard is true.
I lay ‘em purple,
Orange, green,
Pink, yellow, red, and blue.
Fun words! And I just love kid drawings! This one is nice and bright!
Real Cute!
Very cute!
Oh, this sort of tweeting works for me!
Thanks for making me smile!
Fun poem, Laura! Birdy is the wordy. Love your daughter’s drawing.
That is so sweet! It sounds like a classic nursery rhyme with its fun wordplay, simplicity, and dash of nonsense. Adorable drawing. 🙂
Thanks, Renee. Lovely to have you in my neck of the woods!
I love it. The drawing is precious and I see why it inspired such a fun poem!
Thank you! I love each and every one of my daughter’s pictures.
